Hey, if you're going to crash, crashing into snow is a good way to do it.

You do know I assume that is not powdered snow, that is basically packed ice cubes,Ouch!;)

Ya know, I was thinking about that after I wrote it. ;-) Yeah, it's snow that has gone thru a ton of freeze/thaw cycles and is almost like pavement when you fall on it. Even if it's soft from the sun, it's still pretty abrasive.

I have a new respect what carbon machines can withstand.bike was unrideable after this. he lost a minute waiting for neutral service. no idea if the frame cracked or what the issue was though.

Watch that vid closely.
No helmet, and he's already been med-evac'd to the nearest trauma hospital.

or not.....sounds like his bike was all kinds of jacked up and he had to take a neutral bike. His team car was right behind him, so I'm not sure why they didn't have a spare bike for him on top. Either way, it's a tough way to lose the Giro.
Looks Epic.. I hope one day I get to do a ride where it's winter at the top of the hill and summer at the bottom. Not much terrain like that here.

It's pretty cool to see his predictions coming true with things like Oculus and Kinect becoming more and more main stream these days.
