green was the color recommended back in the days. I asked kool stop about this recently and it was still the green that was the recommendation.

Monsieur Patate:

Could you supply a link to correct pads? I have same question!

Merci!

Kool Stop C89 pads (http://www.koolstop.com/english/c89series.html)

Google Kool Stop C89 and many sources (Bike24, ebay, etc) pop up.

I am having trouble finding the green ceramic version. There is one set on eBay but it is an auction.

I bought some from The Pros Closet. Any tricks to getting the new pads in. The groove of the new pad is a touch larger than the channel of the brake body and it wants to cut into the pad.

Campagnolo 8, 9, and 10 speed pads have always been a little difficult to press in. A little Isopropyl alcohol can help. I have resorted to careful ,wrapped with a shop rag, application of pressure using channel-lock pliers.

Channel lock pliers and a rag to protect the brake shoe. One of the brake pad companies used to sell a tool that reminded me of a Leverpull corkscrew that would help get those specific pads in and out of the holders

I spray them with simple green..also take a needle nose and pry the corners out a wee bit. Easiest if caliper off the bike.

1:40 on this..:)

Are the green Kool Stops also recommended for hard anodized rims? Specifically the H + Son black anodized rims...thanks

Small point..'hard' anodizing and 'anodizing for color' aren't the same thing. One makes the thin surface of the rim harder(a bad thing on rims with eyelets) and the other just changes the color. Any pad will 'wear' the brake track of H+Son rims..no special pad required.
