I got a bike here for a friend's son, and it's a big hit. So much so that he wants to ride well into the dusky hours, so mom is seeking front and rear blinky lights. I have a rear blinky I can donate. What are your recommendations for a front white one? (Or do you have one to donate or sell cheap?) Thanks.

I only use the rear Blackburn Flea, but they have a nice looking front one also:

I'm a big fan of this guy: http://www.amazon.com/Serfas-Ultrabright-Rechargeable-Headlight-Black/dp/B004G954W0

much brighter than you'd think, holds a decent charge, weighs nothing, can be clipped onto bars, fork, helmet, head tube, etc...

decently waterproof too. I once took it 10 feet down into a pool (don't ask) and it eventually shut off. a day later, it dried out and has worked for years since.

I have the older Blackburn flea and a newer 2.0 (they replaced one under their lifetime warranty). Both hold a decent charge and give a good light for their size. I have a small serfas rear rechargeable blinky as well and that also is bright with a good charge.

I like the offerings from USA-made Princeton - get the brightest you can get and set it on steady.

Get one that can run on steady for a while. Front blinkies are a scourge on other cyclists and useless for visibility if he ends up out past dark.

I've been using a single LED Knog on the front. Very simple to use, charges on the computer, and a clean simple attachment on the bars.
