My drive side came off like that about a week ago. It was a fun time coming to a stop and dismounting. I cant imagine with both arms attached to your shoes.

As long as the motor in the hub continues to run it shouldn't affect performance.

I had a pedal come off once while I was on the downstroke standing, needless to say the next instance I was on the ground. The only thing hurt was my pride.:o

Did someone not "equally tighten" the NDS pinch bolts to "12~15 N-m by torque wrench"? :D

I had the spindle break off during a hard sprint once. Sparks flew and my chest hit the bars, but I stayed up. Three contact points with the other foot and both hands staying on the bars = staying upright.
BUT, I also had a chain snap on a test ride once and both feet came off the pedals since I was riding straps and walking shoes. Bad crash. Lots of torn clothes and scraped up helmet. Both hands and no feet = crash.

That must be the latest integrated system: shoe-pedal-crank-spindle. It saves 3 grams. :D
