Not an alum, but I live in Hamilton. Have for the last 18 years. Don't tell anyone, but it's some of the best riding in the country (when it's not snowing).

If any Colgate alum plan on coming back for reunion you should bring a bike and drop me a line. Our local club often hosts a ride that weekend.

...Don't tell anyone, but it's some of the best riding in the country (when it's not snowing)...

I did my first mountain bike rides above the ski hill back in the late '80s on an old Nashiki Colorado. I was also lucking enough to spend a couple of months in Hamilton in the summer of '94 before I went to B school. I did nothing but play golf and ride my bikes every day.

It is remarkable that you can spend 4 years in that town and never leave a triangle that goes from the quad to the clubhouse to the jug, and then you find out 2 miles out of town is a whole different world...fantastic riding.

Class of '07. Me and another student rebooted the cycling team in 2005. Put on a small local race, competed in the ECCC. Had a great time. Sadly it lost steam again after about 2009. Great riding around there. Was just back about a year ago giving an invited seminar to my old department (biology). Just like I remember it - only now they have a micro brewery. I still crave a Bigger than the Island Burger and Chipwitches for desert from Gilligans from time to time....

One year in grad school (1984) my roommate was a Colgate alum. Nice guy.

Hope you're doing well, Jay, wherever you are.

That's all I got...

My uncle went. After he and my aunt retired they moved back to Hamilton and love the area. I grew up in Utica and what everyone's saying about the region for riding is spot on. It is exceptional for riding and beautiful in the fall.

Well, hello.

Class of 92 for me, and my wife is class of 93. Fond memories, great place. Set us up well for life.

Can definitely attest to the roads.

I ran XC and Track for 'gate and was lucky enough to get out and see the surrounding area every afternoon when putting in the miles. Never had a bike due to running obligations but might just have to bring one if I go back for reunion one of these years.

I do wonder if my old house at 20 college street is still standing...
