I have a friend who's interested in a built out Fierte Steel with Ultegra components (or equivalents). For those of you that have bought one of these in the past couple of months please let me know the ballpark costs for the complete bike. Feel free to PM me if you want to share privately.

-Thanks, Todd

Why can't you just add it up yourself?

Frame is $1195 + whatever you decide to put on it.

Do you think there are screamin' deals out there to be had?

Many are not aware ( As I was when I was an active seeker )
that Serotta frames are sold mostly at list. ;)

I think that Price is a reasonable question.

A steel Firete should go for 2K to 2.5K Federal Reserve Notes.
(They are not dollars ).

$2,100 on a new 2005 frame.

What wheels and group are on this $2,100 complete bicycle?

Excelsports.com has a good online bike-kit builder. You can play with different options and then add in the price of the frame. You can find better deals but it will give you a good ballpark idea.

GVH.com has better deals and they have a bike builder online as well.

Good luck!

you could always try something byzantine like finding a screaming deal on a mass-produced ultegra bike, strip it, sell the frame, put the parts on the fierte, sell the other frame.

I know a guy who did that with a fuji carbon...got a deal the bike, put the parts on a pinarello, sold the fuji frame, came out ahead by a fair bit...

Ultegra 10 speed. I stand corrected in that it was a new 2004 frame.

I bought my Fierte from a dealer there three years ago. It was brand new, with ultegra and open pro's for $1250.

Choice is always hit or miss though.

Whatever you call them I have had the greenbacks accepted everywhere I have visited in Europe, N America and S America. They really, really liked them in Russia.
