I have a lead on a one-owner 1990s Pegoretti Luigino, very clean, Chorus 10 speed, Nitto stem, 3T bar, Mavic SUP tubulars. Any guidance on what fair money might be on this bike? 58 cm, metallic light blue with maroon and gold accents, nice lugs, steel fork, two-slit BB stamped "10". Thanks!

Add some money if the fork crown says "BUONASERA SIGNORINA"

Doesn't look like it from the pic

The rare crown was a biplane style like this: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/a0/a4/81/a0a4815533a5e3f395af3d9d5dcda924.jpg

Still beautiful. My size too. I'll buy it if you don't. :)

After that savage inverted top tube clamp job in the repair stand?

$500

:)

(Seriously, don't clamp your top tubes people)

Actually, I would think 2000-2500

The silver Chorus 10v levers are worth a few $$ 'round these parts.

It looks like the rare "upside down" version, so add 10% to value.

I have one of those. First edition Peg Luigino. They were originally issued in a limited run of around 34 frame/forks. These first run Luigino had a standard flat fork crown and not the stylized twin-plate crown of some of the later editions. I ordered mine with custom paint and is the only Luigino in that first run that was not sold with the stock Celeste paint as shown in the OP.

I have no idea what it is worth. I don't even remember what I paid for it.

FYI, I don't believe that these were made in the 90s. They came out a bit later...

Wow. That's my favourite Luigino paint scheme. There's one on the brooks website with the same panel treatment. So gorgeous. If you have a 58 or 60 to sell let me know. :)

Thanks, It really has nice ride. Great climbing bike. It's due for a repaint, I wonder if it should go back to light blue?

I believe that bike is from 2001 or 2002, as mentioned the first run with the nice campy dropouts on the frame.

I have a size 60 in blue, #5 from that first run

Re-spraying? Absolute no-no IMO. I wondered the same thing when I purchased my frame (which was well loved).
This frame is like a classic car or a 70s gibson guitar, or an antique piece of furniture - even a worn original finish is superior to re-painting.

The original Pegoretti paint with chips is how the Maestro likes to see his bikes - he makes them to be ridden!

That is a lovely frame. a newer Luigino, which would be made with no less love and less exclusive parts IMO would be $5000
I dont care how much wear that frame has, there is no bike frame that costs less than $2000 that will ever match it. the quality, the maker, the story, and the exclusivity of this particular frame.

I would say this frame is priceless- that is, if it strokes your heart and fits, it is so unique, that the value is really up to the beholder.

If this particular bike fit me, I would be happy paying $1500 for the frame alone, provided it had no dents, and I would consider the parts on it freebies.

I'd be happy to pay $1500 for a used Luigino frame too, they just don't seem to come up very often.

The repair has held up well. The size of the bike is a bit different, the head tube and seat tube are very short so fit is a challenge. The ride is different from my Kirk, more nimble and quick handling. Funny thing is I'll ride the Kirk for a week or two and then get out the Pegoretti and it always puts a smile on my face and I think WOW this is a nice ride.
