Good morning, folks. Any recommendations for an accurate air pressure gauge? Looking for low-cost and accuracy for low pressures, 15psi or so. Did a quick search here and didn't find. Big database though, so doesn't mean it's not already answered here. Your help is appreciated.

big fan of the topeak smartgauge d2. been using it for a couple years for cx. cheap enough, functions well and is probably accurate. it's more important to always use the same gauge and have it be consistent than for it to be 100% dead-on-balls accurate.

great thing about the topeak is you just over-fill the tire and then let out air by pressing a button until it's just where you need it. rather than test with gauge, see you need less air, remove gauge, let air out, test again, etc...

I recently picked up the SKS Airchecker, I can't say if it's better or worse the the Topeak, but my LBS had that in stock and it seems to work well.

I do too, but it won't let you bleed off pressure like the Topeak. That's fine with me.

Thanks, guys. Small item, but would still be a waste of my time & $ if it didn't work any better than the gauge on my floor pump. So, will take your suggestions to my lbs.

FWIW, I bought an SKS last year after the thread here. It reads the same as my Harbor Freight gauge, though I'm not sure at 15lbs of pressure. I call that a flat ;)

The Accu-Gage Professional works for me! I like the air bleed feature for fine tuning. This company has been making gauges for many years.

+1 on the Meiser Accu-Gage (http://www.ghmeiser.com/). The lifetime warranty is a plus. They re-calibrated mine for just the cost of postage.

I have the Schwalbe gauge, and I cannot recommend. It is very touchy and seems to let out more air than it measures! :crap:

This shop is down the road from me, and has been reliable.

This would be the gauge I'd buy for fat tires... or cyclocross tubulars in cold mud .

I have the the 0 - 60 pound Accu Gauge that worked perfectly and consistently until it didn't. I've got it boxed up and ready to send off. But damn it was good while it worked. Hardly lost a spit of air in measurement and held a reading until I wanted to reset it.
