I'm about to pick up a frame that has a 135mm spaced rear.

I'm pretty green to the 135mm wheel market.
What kind of choices do I have? Gonna be running campy 10.

It's looking like I'm probably gonna have to get some hand builts if I want something decent (which I do).

WI hubs? Phil?

What are my options here.

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hope Mono hubs are really nice, and come in Campy/135mm.

DT350 can be made to 135, WI as well.

White T-11, if you ask they'll ship you one with a new end
cap for 135mm. Recently built a 135mm T-11 Campy, DT 440 asym.
Drive side spoke angle looks pretty good.
You can swap in a Shimano freehub body without redishing the wheel.

I was just thinking about a t11 to 440 wheelset. 28/32 with an asymmetric rear. Black hubs and rims with silver spokes. Silver record skewers.

Pretty much what I thought.
In order to get a decent wheel im gonna have to go handbuilt.

Its gonna be a touringish-Gravel grinder bike so I'm probably gonna go higher spoke count... although at my weight I can definitely get away with 28h front.

The frame isn't in my possession just yet but I struck a deal with the builder and am supposed to pick it up sometime in early May, so no pics or info quite yet.

I have some whatever bontrager wheels which came on a bike that I'm gonna get rid of now that I'm picking up this one.

Thanks for the info folks, looks like I'm gonna have to save up for some hubs.

I'll put a proper frame photo thread up when I receive the bike.

When it's time, give me a shout, I'd be happy to build them.

For your application, White Industries makes a hub that is already 135, the MI5. If you want colors or 11 speed, you need to get the T-11, but if you want silver or black 9/10, then the MI5 is ready out of the box.

If you are looking for inexpensive yet durable wheels and weight is not a huge issue, I've had good luck with Velocity Dyad rims laced to Shimano LX hubs that are 135 spaced. I bought a set on eBay for about $200 shipped to go on my Soma Saga, which I use for touring, riding on greenways and occasional commuting.

King Classic Cross rear hubs are 135 and non-disc.

EDIT: ...but also Shimano-only. Sorry for my poor reading comprehension.

I think a DT Swiss hubset will give you the most versatility and re-sale down the road.

Had a Hugi/DT Swiss wheelset and wish I never sold :crap:

Why not just build a disc hub up with non-disc rims? That will open up your options and it's not like the mounting area for the rotor is adding that much weight.

The Velocity convertible lightweight ATB hub I just build up was pretty impressive.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Old spud- sounds like I'll be gettin hand builts so ill hit you up when the time is right.

Just bought a plane ticket to Peru yesterday so I'm gonna grab this frame and ride the mediocre bontrager still I can upgrade.

I've seen accounts of people going down to 130 and I've seen people go to 132.5 so either size can easily be used.

I couldn't do that to this frame its too purdy and I'm gonna ride what it was built for.

Nate's ride is awsome, but no one will shame him for a coldset.

Tell us what yours is already!

Its not anything anyone is gonna crap their pants over.

I havent paid the builder yet (he said I can pay on arrival and didnt need me to put a depoist) and I haven't picked it up since my sister is about to pop out a new member of the family and we have the whole crew in town from Japan.
