Anyone have any experience running a 650b wheel with the ENVE 2.0 or comparable fork? Very curious to know if a 42-584 tire fits well.

Have you looked at the Enve Gravel fork? It says it has clearance for 700X35 with fenders. I would think that for 650B you could go way bigger.

Which is cool, but not what I'm looking for. I'm trying to be able to share wheelsets between frames so I'm looking to replace my go-fast rim brake frame with a frame with similar geometry but disc brakes. No desire for fenders as those bases are covered elsewhere. Just looking for fat and light.

I see what you're saying. A 42-584 tire would have more than enough room in the axle to crown area on a road fork (designed for 28-622) so no need for a gravel or CX fork there. Just wondering if there is enough width between the blades.

that forks seem to be made of metal, I think the OP is looking for carbonissimo

I can confirm that there's room in an ENVE Disc 2.0 and the new TRP CX fork. I've run both with Panaracer 650b x 42c GravelKings. The extra height does bother me a bit, but it's an easy swap between road, cross and fat-road tires (I have three wheelsets).

I'm really surprised a 650b x 41 fits in the Enve Road Disc, the CX disc I get but seems like it'd be awfully tight in the straight up road version. I know my non-disc 2.0 wasn't very wide at that point of the fork blades and I would have assumed the Disc version would be similar.

That's the Enve road fork?

The Salsa Colossal used to come with an ENVE RD fork. Here's someone who fit Panaracer Pacenti Pari-Moto 27.5x1.5 (650bx38c):

Here is a Moots tapered road fork with a 650b Compass Babyshoe on a Pacenti SL23 rim. The side clearance is about 2.5mm as shown by the allen key wedged in the at the sidewall.

not disc and too tight for my taste, but a demonstration that a 650bx38 could work nicely.
This fork has tons of room for the 700x29 tires the bike normally wears.

I bet the Parlee disc road fork would have perfect clearance for 650b because it has even more room.

This is a pretty interesting thread that you linked - particularly his later comments on the bike not tracking well during cornering. I suspect that moving to a smaller wheelsize while keeping all else the same has reduced fork trail making for lighter steering feel. That combined with the fact that he's now dragging a larger contact patch around turns could have contributed to the wobble he had in cornering.

Sounds like ruining an otherwise really nice riding experience by f*$%# with proven geometry. Would also hate to see the ends of his crank arms next year dropping the bb that much.
