I thought it was the US. Is this correct?

No. Just the rims themselves.

Hi Tom,

Thanks so much for reaching out to us. Since being established in 2007, ENVE has made components in both Asia and the U.S. As a start-up company, we simply did not have the resources to manufacture everything stateside. Two years ago, we made the commitment to begin on-shoring our components to Ogden as you can see in this article.

This is a long-term process as we’ve had to build new capabilities including our own paint facility. We are proud that ENVE now manufactures the Mountain Stem, Direct Mount Stem, all of the Minnaar Bars, some DH bars and some seat posts in Ogden. There was also a brief period of time when some or our RD forks were manufactured in the US. Our Carbon Road hub is also entirely manufactured in Ogden (outside of the internals which we source and proudly advertise from DT Swiss). Our We hope that this is the first of many U.S. made components but are proceeding very cautiously.

In 2010, we were seriously considering moving all of our wheel manufacturing to Asia. Knowing that the manufacturing process is what makes the ENVE product unique, we could not bring ourselves to offshore the wheel manufacturing. It was a defining decision for us and one that we are proud to have made. Today, we manufacture 100% of our rims in the U.S. and nearly 80% of our business is wheels, which is why we have felt comfortable with our statement of “made in America”.

When asked, we do not hide behind the fact that we make product in Asia. Admittedly, we are particularly proud of the fact that we remained steadfast and kept the wheel manufacturing here in Ogden which is probably why we talk about it so much. If there are any other follow-up questions, please do let us know.

A bit fuzzy about the forks. Implication is all in Asia

I'm not quite a fan of "feeling comfortable saying Made in the USA". Clearly the phrase has caused confusion for years of where ENVE products are made, and I'm sure many people find out later after buying forks, stems, etc.

How hard is it to say "Wheels manufactured in the USA?". It's the truth, at least..

They should really just say nothing and have the information available for those who are interested in the "about enve" section of their website.

Its the fact that they use the whole "made in america by choice" attitude to sell their stuff that kinda bothers me.

Agree, where are the parts made not where are they assembled. Big difference.

Good for them is they are moving manufacturing back to North America.

No doubt. More like "made in america when convenient". Sigh. At least their products are quite good.

IIRC there was a period where Enve advertised 1.0 forks as US-made. Evidently no longer the case.

That they were...for a period...now they are discontinued entirely...:(

The recently recalled forks were made in Vietnam

http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/Recall-Alerts/2016/ENVE-Recalls-Bicycle-Forks/

Of course being made in the USA isn't always a sign of good design or production as evident by Zipps recall of 62,000 US-made hubs
