Sorry Smiley,

It was a silent auction, so we can't talk about it.

Smiley,

Here is the inside scoop. One bike received a bid of over $25,000. It only had one bidder- Carbon Calfee Kevan. He was so eager to get a Serotta, he kept biding against himself.

Please don't tell him what he did. He won't undersand anyway.

I look a head tube lengths...it's a feature too often neglected in sizing and not always easy to find. The good news is that Serotta has begun listing them but what we need is a formula that will tell us bar height from the htl, hs stack height, bb drop, tire height, stem plus angle however many spacers. I can get close when I put these together but it can really goof you up...There are two bikes in the auction that are close to okay and I low bid on 'em with absolutely no expectation of winning. Then again, that's how I got my black CSi that wears the Mavic group, by "accidentally" winning it on eBay. It strikes me as more in Serotta's interests to have the bids posted. How else to throw chum in the waters and get the sharks in a frenzy? I'm not sure their reasoning but it is quite dignified and reflects well on Ben and Co.

waiting for my repainted CSi from JB,

dbrk: Don't know if you've had work done by JB before, but in case you haven't, you will not believe his work. It is consistently PERFECT!! FLAWLESS!

The silence is broken, but... is the auction over yet? Isn't today the final day for bidding? Aren't people showing their hand a little too early?

I was going to bid but as Serotta didn't want to provide photographic information i decided to abstain.

Good luck to the winners with fitting.

no available photo's , thats too bad as I think pictures would have helped move them bikes out ta there. Anyway my guess is the CHT will go very fast and fetch a good penny too, I would have bid on that one except it was disc compatable only.

Er...Smiley,

It's a CST.

It's probably better that you're not bidding in the auction. You might have bought that 44 compact in error. :D

soft tail , gee that might have been a better bike to bid on cause I already have a hard tail . What kind of shock is on the rear of that thing anyway ?

There's still time to bid. Take a shot at it.

19"- what leg inseam measurement would that be suitable for? I have no knowledge of Mtb sizing at all.

There's a picture of a CST in the '02 catalogue, painted blue and white in the front end and bare in the rear with a Stratos Short Travel Air-Shock. It looks beautiful. This is not the same frame but certainly hints at the quality of what is on offer in the auction. This seems to be the last time an mtb makes an appearance in a Serotta catalogue. Just the vague reference on the back cover of the '03, "Our dirty little secret".

Have they stopped making mtb frames?
