Now days all stems seem to be black and I don't particularly care for black bicycle parts. Thus, would y'all please point the way where to find silver colored stems (threadless)? Thank you kindly, atmo.

Thomson makes threadless stems in a silver finish.

Good luck!

I have a Ritchey I bought NOS off of ebay that is a nice gray color. Nitto makes silver stems and you can get them from Rivendell. And, if you have plenty o cash, Moots Open Road Stems are just flat out beautiful (and they come custom if you have a few more ducets).

I have the Thomson. It only comes in a 31.8 bar clamp width, and I think the clamp squeaks on my bars every now and then. If you want a standard bar clamp, I think this Nitto is the Ultimate Ideal in a silver threadless stem:

I bought the Nitto from Rivendell. It has some weird name like the U5x or something. I love it. It's the best looking stem I own, and functions perfectly on my effin' cross bike.

Nitto makes a couple of nice silver threadless stems, the UI-5GX.

There's a pretty good photo of the Nitto stem on my Legend in the Serotta Gallery here: http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=17564

All the traditional threaded steerer bikes look better in silver trim but some modern bikes go either way. I prefer silver usually but am currently building two rigs in black. Pictures forthcoming.

These Nitto threadless are like all Nitto products: the very best quality.

I have an Oval that I like very much (in spite of the mp screws on the back), but have never seen Oval in silver. Thanks.

The Rivendell catalog also shows a lugged Nitto threadless stem, which although extravagantly priced ($200) is substantially prettier than the UI-5EX, atmo.

For a brief period Riv also had a lugged/fillet brazed/TIG welded Nitto threadless stem that they blew out at $60 that IMO was about the prettiest thing I've ever seen in threadless. Lugged at the bar interface, fillet brazed at the steerer interface, and overall simply gorgeous.

Cinelli Groove comes in silver and is quite nice. Prices are all over the board but you can get them for $20 or less.

Itm briefly made some polished threadless cromoly stems but I haven't seen any around for several years. Most local frame builders will make you a stem whatever way you want it.

Manet, suffice it to say I'm a little obsessive. Couldn't decide on which bars to use on a bike that REQUIRED SILVER doo-dads and, as a result, bought quite a few silver stems off the ebayers.

Good people. Good stuff. Good clean fun.

Another Silver threadless stem to consider is the IRD Prestige Ultra-Lite Stem:

Nice looking and weighs in at a very light 120g!

silver, 12 cm, decal removed. Bought from Wayne for a Kirk being built but Dave has spec'd a 13 so it will go up for sale, along with matching Oval Concepts post, also with decal removed, if you (or anyone else) is interested...
