A buddy is having a birthday, and want to get him an inexpensive cycling related gift. Any cool 'nice to haves' that are cheap, like in the $30 dollar range? One of those things that you see, and you'd like to have, but you don't bother....you know....
thanks!

Does your friend commute or ride in the dark at all? For $15 you can get a set of little blinking red lights that go in your bars, in place of the end plugs. They're very high visibility for drivers. I really like mine.

Thanks! Don't think he needs any water bottle cages, but a cycling book and maybe a good bottle of red for he and his wife might do the trick..
More suggestions welcome! :)

A book is the best gift. However, look for a web site called Go-Velo-City and you'll find some very nifty miniature cyclists for much less than $30; a cute gift for any bike loving dude, atmo.

Try a Blackburn Carbon Mini Pump. The nicest and lightest, never leave home without it.

Two or three pair of cool cycling socks (not your basic black or white, but something with a pattern or design...plenty out there) and a bottle of wine.

Wine and gift card/certificate to lbs. Not quite as tacky as cash but at least they can get what they want.

SKS Raceblade (http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=&subcategory=&brand=&sku=14008&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=) removable fenders are a great gift (but at $50) they are a little outside of your budget). Here (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=18218&page=1&pp=15) they are on the bike of our very own Serotta James.

SmartWool socks. He'll love 'em!

I agree with the wool sox idea. They are so much better than the typical thin ones for so much of the year. I even like them in the Summer when I also wear the standard bike shop sox from de feet, etc.
Heck, I also like wool jersies from Ibex but they are way out of your price range here.
