The immediate need with perspiration is of course more fluids and more minerals if you are riding long enough.

But the long term danger is to perspire too much Calcium and to develope osteoporosis. Bicycling is not a weight bearing exercise. Yoga makes a wonderful complement to bicycling because it is a weight bearing exercise that involves strength, balance and flexibility. If you are over fifty and you have been a cyclist for a while, but you don't do any weight bearing exercise, you should consider a bone density test.

Cheers,

Kane

P.S.
I saw Al Gore's movie yesterday. Don't worry. Were all going to die sooner from the associated natural castrophies associated with global warning! Enjoy!!

All true Kane...for endurance athletes of course...the person has to be doing some big K's per week I believe.

So we should be lifting weights, bunny-hopping and sprinting (standing loads the legs!) and riding MTB's occasionally!
