I happend across this and it looks like a 57 is a about a perfect fit for me. I like the price and disc option for a do all bike.

Any thoughts?

I didn't see a disc option.

I built up the canti version for a friend who commuted for several months on it before leaving it with another friend when he went back home to Oz. Nice riding frame with proper fender mounts. Head tube is short for my aesthetic tastes, but you can't have it all.

For reference this is a 60cm.

I have one and use it as my commuter. I've been riding it for two years. It rides really nicely - very smooth and stable, probably due to the long wheelbase. Super easy to ride no-handed. It's deceivingly fast, especially when you get it up to speed (it's definitely not a race bike). I wasn't a big fan of it at first, but it's become one of my favorite bikes. Just a really easy bike to ride.

The red paint is also quite nice. Hope that helps.

I considered it at one time, but it has crazy short head tubes for my purposes. Does not seem like the kind of bike that you would want to set it up with aggressive positioning, so I don't understand the head tube length. OK, however, if you like to ride with a large handlebar drop or don't mind running a bunch of spacers and/or riser stem.

This one is on my list for a next bike, but I am a bit put-off by the reported weight - not so much for the weight per-se, but for the likely "deadness" of frame flex. To get what I want is an extra thousand bux (Rodriguez Phinney Ridge - http://www.rodbikes.com/catalog/phinney-ridge/phinney-ridge-main.html)

But it doesn't have through axles!

I kid. I like it. In spite of the short head tube length. It must be my thing for orange bikes. Second only to green bikes.

Yeah I noticed the head tube too. Actually really damn short.

The short head tube thing gets me with VO designs. The Piolet is even worse... Don't understand it given their focus...

I have heard a rumor that Soma is doing a disk version of the ES. That would be really cool in my opinion.

A friend here just picked up the frameset for a new dirt road/rando build. Looks like a good option at the pricepoint, I'm excited to see how it rides all built up.

This frame is currently in my sights to buy to replace the wife's commuter. Thanks to all for the feedback

I have used a PH as my commuter for the last two years. I love it.

It's just a really well balanced bike - a great all-rounder.

Too light for a serious grocery getter, but it'll handle commuter duties and light touring admirably.

Nearly all their frames are like that. For example, their Piolet:

beautiful.
from when the VO pass hunter was a made to measure item.

VO must be a lot of me-shaped folks bc most other bikes' top tubes are rarely long enough before the headtube becomes too tall.
