hello
i have an ancient steel road bike, my brake aren´t a big deal so i want to change them for something newer and stronger. i has looking for a dual pivot and i found this oem chinese for about 6 euros each one. the shimano sora i can buy it for about 18 euros each. If i had only one bike i will go for shimano, but i have 13 bikes so i´m in a buget . the thing that strikes back is that this oem chinese doesnt have the screw on one of the arms that gives the fine tuning.what do you think about it?http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Etrier-de-Frein-Avant-en-Metal-Caoutchouc-pour-Velo-Route-VTT-Cyclisme-Bike-/321485150052?var=&hash=item4ada021764:m:mU55Or5B5DfxI_c49bQtpqw

Do the new brakes match the frame /fork attach? Frame/fork for recessed nuts? Proper brake reach for frame and fork?

Buy the Sora. It's worth the money simply for the upgrade in the pads, let alone the brake caliper.

For stuff like that I'd say that there's a 60-35-5 chance that it's fine or maybe has issues that make them somewhat annoying to use, or worst case it has serious deficiencies. The manufacturer may have a long history of making these, and has ironed out all the bugs, or you may be putting you life on the line with the pinch-bolt failing just when you need it most.

If all I would be doing with the bike is use it once a month for coffee shop runs at 10 mph then I'd get the cheapo brakes. If it's to be used regularly I'd get Shimano, or if you really can't bring yourself to get that, then Tektro.

You should just buy one good brakeset and swap it between your 13 bikes, since you can only ride one at a time.

passarotrovao - 13 is a very unlucky number. you dont want to mix cheap brakes and bad luck. sell one of those bikes and fund a set of good, name brand brakes.
