I'm not a big fan of McCain generally, but this was indeed a nice piece. He's done some other "good" things in the last few years too, such as supporting the House report on torture.

Especially since a leading candidate these days could be a dead ringer for Franco or perhaps Mussolini.

Ironic that he wrote it for the NY Times, but I guess that NYT wrote the obituary. I wonder if he sent it to the Republican media, Wall St Journal, if they would have printed it.
