Adventure Cycling ~ Sierra Cascades route?

Thinking about this route in late spring. I'm not sure if I'll be in good enough shape but I was wondering if anyone has completed any sections of the Sierra Cascades route. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

All I can add is that with this season's snowfall I'd want to do it south-to-north to give things in the Cascades a chance to melt out. Also you can take advantage of (relatively) cooler weather and more reliable water sources down south if you start on the southern end in spring.

Thanks for that info! I bought the maps awhile back so it's been on my bucket list. I was going to go from Portland to Truckee so I might plan that for a late August/early Sept trip both for getting in better shape and better weather.
