Specialized prefers to sell, via time machine, to men living in the 1950's rather than women today. #iamnotspecialized

Specialized launches a limited edition “Playboy” version of its Turbo S e-bike at the Berlin Bike Show.

This is not a great way to get women into our sport.

This is why people like John Cleese and Chris Rock won't even go near a college campus anymore.

Are you here for the 5 minute argument or the full half-hour?;)

Please refresh my memory, but the CEO of Specialized has a long history of being a bit of a douche, isn't that correct?

This kind of marketing blunder seems to be going around at the moment. Microsoft just came under fire for hosting a party with gogo dancers dressed as Japanese schoolgirls:

Perhaps it's just awareness that's increasing, rather than the blunders themselves. I myself like women just the way God/nature made them, rather than dressed up and displayed as someone else's fantasy.

Playboy's probably on its last gasp, as it were.

End of an era. And what an era it was.

I'd bet the mansion will be a teardown once (or perhaps if) it sells.

I'd buy the bike just to read the owners manual.

All I can say is...

WTH?

I don't even understand this marketing.

Like people who read Playboy are the demographic for ebikes? Can someone help me understand this if I'm missing something obvious? Is there really an overlap?

Aside for the lameness of the partnership, I don't even understand any potential business justification.

I'm really disappointed in Specialized.

I'm pretty sure most of us dudes in spandex is not a great way to get women into the sport. :)

"I was riding my bike home...beautiful woman...I was too exhausted from riding...if only I had an e-bike..." In all seriousness, I so agree with you, luckily never cared for Spec bikes, but do like their accessories, especially shoes. And speaking of which, the heels on those girls made my recent Achilles surgery area ache

Dear penthouse, I never thought I'd be writing, but on a recent e-bike ride...

More seriously, this was probably one guy at specialized who was like, "Hey, if I do a playboy tie in, maybe I can get to go the mansion for a big party."

Can I get T-shirt, "IamNOT_Specialized" ?

Is this not in conflict with their support for women's cycling team or .maybe this is why they no longer wanted title sponsorship. :/

I guess Femke van den Driessche had a conflict...
