I had one of these, same color and I miss it dearly. I will get it back one day. You will love it, the corsa 01s are under rated when it comes to merckx's

found a picture of it

Sweet, now I regret selling the 9 speed pristine silver veloce group I had a month ago. I was not expecting to buy another frame like this but my significant other knew I've wanted one of these from my bucket list so she encouraged me to buy it.

If you are interested in a Daytona 9 speed groupset I might be able to help you out, it is complete. Presently on the IF I am selling but may end up parting out the bike.

Looks like it will be a great bike. I have a Corsa Extra with SLX. What's the difference btw a Corsa 01 and a Corsa Extra?

I once saw a Merckx made with Brain OS once that I really liked.

Don't quote me on this but it's a newer version but made with Dedacciai tubing. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/rec.bicycles.tech/N63wFMDoWdY
Mine is listed as 1997 model. Also it comes with record HS, nitto cages, stem ,bars and seat post, all and all a very good deal.

01 was Dedacciai tubing, Extra was Columbus.

I would take that frame in a hear beat. I have a frame made with Zero Uno and I love it.

Was this the one on ebay that went this weekend? I almost started bidding. Beautiful frame and fork. I used to have a tsx tubed extra corsa tenth anniversary. Fantastic frame and fork.

I had a NOS cadminium red Corsa 01 which is one of the most beautiful and fine riding bikes I have owned. I sold it to a mate near where I live so I see it regularly. I would buy it back in a heartbeat.

It was perfect for me after sampling a MX Leader.

There were two of them this weekend. They looked somewhat alike, the other one went yesterday ,It was a Corsa Extra SLX. Basically same colors, I was originally going to bid on that one until I saw this one.

as others have said, corsa-01 uses deda-01 tube-set... the main difference with deda-01 being oversized. one might consider it akin to a just-shy-of-an-MXL frame.

visually you can see the move to a fast-back seat-stay attachment (and if you look really close the brake-bridge will be pretty tight to the tire as a result).

this was also available in the "Corsa" -- same frame design but substituted oversized Thron tubeset in place of deda-01.

The Merckx frame to buy is the ones made by De Rosa
Later frames nice but pale to De Rosa's builds

Someone dropped this load off in my office this morning. Found at bottom of a creek (saddle added after the salvage operation). Guess I'll mess with it one of these days.

Frame arrived today and surpassed my expectations. Looks almost like NOS and came with Nitto Craft stem,Nitto Dynamic seat post as well as Nitto cages.
One of the best deals I've ever scored. Charles why rain on my parade, if I wanted a DeRosa I'd get a DeRosa not one that is branded Merckx. I want MY Merckx made by Belgian craftsman.

Here's a tease until I get it built up.

Unless I'm wrong on the time line, the only Merckx frames made by DeRosa were team frames when Eddy was racing. In 1990(Eddy retried in May of 1978) Eddy started his bike frame company and with HUGE input from Ugo DeRosa, started making Merckx frames in Belgium. I guess you could find a Merckx team frame, made before 1980 but that would be rare. Including Fiat and C&A, Merckx teams in 1977/8(Molteni last year 1976).

Hey Ed have you received the CSI yet? BTW if you need a hand building it up let me know. This campy group I had on the Serotta Colorado will soon adorn my Merckx. I'm trading him a nice partial 6600 Ultegra group for it (shifter, derailleurs and brakes).

Reminds me the scooter my mom had, obviously no seat. Grandpa bought it in england for my mom and then passed to me, never seen one like it ever.

Like 12 inch inflated wheels, wood surface, brakes in front and back plus fenders... Beat the crap out of that scooter when i was a kid... as i said before never seen one like that before. MOFO was able to go as fast as a bicycle going down hill. it rocked!
