Building up a travel bike. I have a leftover Record 10 short cage RD and NOS Centaur 34-50 crankset.
Will a 12-30 work with this combo or is there too much chain wrap?

Pretty sure that won't work.
30 is too big in the back

It'll be fine as long as the chain is the proper length. As soon as the 12-30 came out we put it onto a demo bike, with compact and short cage rear der..replaced the 13-29..

It's well beyond the rated capacity but several have done it with success.

Depends on the derailleur hanger dimensions. You'll probably have to play with the p screw so the upper jockey clears the 30. Also make sure you use Campy's chain length method, little ring, little cog, 5-10mm of clearance to the upper pulley.
