Howdy

I lost a spoke descending a big, hard descent last night... was bombing so hard, I didn't even realize anything happened. But at the bottom, slowing, I felt it - acckkk.. didn't even want to look. Sure enough, the sidewall gum on an almost brand new FMB was worn all the way down to the cotton.

Fortunately, the carcass is fine - all threads totally intact. It's just the gum. I do want to re-seal it, though... how?

Thanks gents

Make sure it's not too big, you might have to resize.

Tent seam sealer works well.

Think aquaseal is thick enough? Seems like the most obvious answer (I have some SeamGrip and I'm sure that'd work, but it's clear.... vanity n' all)

We put it on all the skinwall tires to prevent rot and discoloration.

I like McNetts. I think Dugast recommends aquaseal.

^Thanks for the suggestion. If Dugast recommends Aquaseal, maybe I'll give that a try.

FWIW, I've used Barge Cement (http://www.amazon.com/Barge-Cement-Rubber-Leather-Glass/dp/B015ZL9VDK) in the past and it's worked well. I used it on some Dugast tires that sat deflated for too long and started to separate at the threads. Was concerned that the tube may start poking through, but it hasn't been an issue.
