Wonder if I could do a dry P2A on my road bike with 28 mm Kenda Karvs.

Considering it.
I rode it many eons ago with a mountain bike. Some parts were a bit muddy. A friend who was semi-pro said you could do it with road tires cuz there's so much paved/ hard packed sections.

Since the cross bike is long gone, the MTB is a commuter with rack and slicks and the single speed Gates belt drive Bamboosero is out of the question, I was thinking about using the Lynskey with the Karvs.

Biggest thing holding me back is this 20 lbs of fat on me.

If it is dry you can get away with it. Any mud and your day will be rough. You need the clearance around the brakes and frame. This will be your doom along side the 28 tires that will sink deep into the muck.

Yeah, if it's dry for 2 weeks leading up to it, I can probably get away with it.

Keep in mind its later in the spring than it used to be. I think if it hasn't rained a lot in the days and weeks prior to the race, it's doable on that set-up.
