wow, that looks spectacular. many moons ago, allison dunlap passed me like i was standing still during a collegiate race. small group of us in the men's race were off grinding up a hill in santa cruz, and she came by like a pizza delivery car running 20 min. late. she was gone, and i mean just plain GONE. what a sight, what a talent. have never forgotten it (because i was almost puking as well!).

That ride sounds great. Alison is really nice - here she is maybe 8 years ago with my daughter at sea otter (Btw madz was on a full suspension hot rock). The clif / Luna relationship is forever. I would love to meet Andy one day

That's so awesome. He would have had to leave 30 minutes behind the group for me to have a chance to ride with him.

That's so awesome. He would have had to leave 30 minutes behind the group for me to have a chance to ride with him.

There were only ~30 on the ride with Andy and Alison. Alison went with a group of ~20 frisky riders and Andy hung back with a slow group of ~ 10 riders so you would have been able to ride w/ him :) If not on the ride, they made themselves available at the après ride lunch event.

We got lucky to ride with him as we had stopped to helped out another teammate who flatted. We chased up grade for ~7 miles to pass stragglers and then happened to catch Andy and another ride leader waiting for the stragglers just before descending. Since the rain was coming down, the sag truck came up to us and told us to keep heading back to Velo Vino for lunch and he would sweep any stragglers.

CST's comment of Andy and Alison being the "two of the nicest super heroes" around is so true. They are so humble and approachable- they make you feel like you are ol' friends when talking to them.

Definitely a most memorable experience :)

I've been lucky enough to spend several weeks in Italy with Andy and his company, Cinghiale, touring in Tuscany and in the Dolemite mountains. He is truly a nice, approachable and decent human being . . . Can't speak highly enough of him. A real pleasure to be around.

+1000! His Cinghiale tour is the only way to ride the Dolomites!
