I'm getting conflicting reports. Some say you can fit a 13/29 with a short Record derailleur, others say only a 13/26. :argue: Anyone know the right answer?

Official word per Campy is 26T max. Unofficially, could you get the 13-29 to work? Probably, but it will likely be a bit balky getting into that big rear cog or have chain wrap issues in small cog, particularly if you use 39/15 or smaller combo. The only standard cage Campy RD that can handle all stock C10 cassettes while using a 53/39 up front is the Centaur RD. In fact, I prefer the Centaur RD over Record/Chorus due to appearence, price and said versatility. Be sure to use the smoother operating, more durable Record/Chorus Ergolevers, '01-'03 Chorus alloy levers are of course the best choice of all if you can still find'em.
Ride on!
PS: these new icon thingies are kinda cool :bike:

Mally G.
I am using a 13-29 record cassette on two different bikes with both using a short cage RD. Both bikes shift like glass. One RD is a 2004 and the other is a 2003.

Sorry for my ignorance,
Is the issue the rear derailleur size? Is there a difference in shifting based on the cage size? Advantages of short versus long?
