Something very strange is going on with the tick marks on that graphic.
There are 5 tick marks between each '5 minute' tick mark.

my prediction is that they discovered a huge cache of NOS Spinergy Rev-X and Mavic R-sys wheels. Big discounts!

I used to buy lots of stuff from PBK, but as they got more successful they raised their prices to the point that Ribble seems to always have lower prices.

Hmm, must be an A/B test on their end. My mail had the same graphic, but a different message at the bottom, as well as the subject.
'Flash Deals - available for one hour only'
...and, Trash.

Same and their shipping became extremely slow. Every now and then still the best option.

Since they were bought out a few years ago, there prices haven't been competitive with the likes of Ribble. Also, I read that they started shipping by means other than Royal Mail, so you are almost certain to get dinged with needless customs admin fees.

Saw some of the stuff they had for sale - nothing I needed / wanted. Phew.

Flash deals. I like that. Not enough time to discuss with wife/SO. Maybe they'll do one for the Silca pump.

Not trying to start any kind of war here whatsoever, but I stay off these lists for the explicit reason that as long as my LBS is still open, and still giving me 20% frankly (club discount, though I do not ride for them) and tossing in any wrenching involved, I only buy from them., or used/opened from private users on PL. I don't want to be tempted.

I'm going to to through my email this weekend and set some spam filters. I'm getting tired of the constant flow of stuff like this. is it me, or does it seem like the spam email traffic has increased a LOT in the last 6 months or so? it's always been there yes, but it seems way more frequent lately.

Look, we're gonna do great things. Were gonna hire great people. Offer you the best deals. We don't win anymore. Nobody wins anymore. Except you. Now you'll win again. You'll make your bicycling parts great again. There's no problem in that area. Believe me.

Do you use Gmail? If so, have you tried just marking them as 'Spam'? Are these mails getting through despite your labeling, or are there other filters that have an explicit 'Don't send to spam' setting?
I know for a fact, gmail's spam filtering system is machine learnt with supervised inputs coming from the user. In other words, if you keep marking the kinds of mails you think are 'spam' as 'Spam', then within a few days you'll not see them in your inbox anymore.
Apologies if I misunderstood something, and ended up just stating the obvious though.
Finally, in answer to your question, I don't think Spam is on the rise now. Although, I've come across more innovative methods of spam coming through, where the spammer now sends attachments with junk in them. However, Gmail scans the attachments for security threats, as well as keywords, so if there's too much crap in it, that gets put in the pan as well.

Yes, I noticed the same thing with PBK. They used to be my go-to shop, but after that buyout things weren't the same.

PBK keeps sending me e-mails with the subject "We Miss You". I'm letting them figure out why on their own.
All you guys that get the 20% discount from your local shops should consider yourselves lucky: I get the feeling my local shops tack on 20% when they see me coming.

And while you're at it, take a look at your gmail spam folder sometime. Holy sh*t, the stuff in there is amazing. ;-) Let's just say there are a lot of Nigerian Princes out there....
