Drivetrain woes. So, I was having problems with my drivetrain — mostly ghost shifting on the downshifts in the middle of the cassette. I figured chain wear. The chain measured out a little stretched so I replaced it (Chorus). Still ghost shifting and the drivetrain sounded lousy so I figured it was time for a new cassette (5K on a Chorus drivetrain).
The ghost shifting is gone (yay) but now the drivetrain sounds lousy even when clean, and there’s this odd sensation of “play” as I spin — like there are deadspots/lumpy feeling in the drivetrain. Am I nuts? Could this be related to rear hub? I feel the lumpy deadspots mostly on the non-drive side. Gear combination makes no difference. Thoughts (related to this)?
TIA. :)
