I live in a suburban/rural area here. This 49 miler is the best one I can make with with local roads. I can also do an elephant's head - but that one would take me down some pretty unsavory roads.

This is a little like a Rorschach test (it's a woman with her legs spread, right?). Actually, I see it now. I have ridden those same roads for years myself and did not know there was a big hummingbird population up there. Nice!

Friend of mine just did this one on the weekend for his daughter's birthday -

Is this the high-tech version of the Nazca Lines, carved into the Peruvian desert thousands of years ago?

In this newer system, riding the route just created a virtual image, which isn't visible until it is displayed on a computer screen. It would have been much more impressive if he had attached an automatic spray paint system onto his bike, which actually painted the outline on the roads. The images could be then be seen by anyone flying overhead, and maybe even show up on Google Earth satellite images.

The cake on top of the Y is a nice touch! Wonder if his daughter appreciated the amount of effort her dad went too!?
