What's a good road shoe cover out there?
Read a bunch of reviews on different covers and it seems the majority of them leave people generally dissatisfied.
Currently riding Mavic Aksium Elites.
Doesn't need to be too warm - just something to get through the PNW winter (50s and rainy).

Voler Black Label.
I use Pearl Izumi Elite shoe covers. They keep me pretty warm down to 15-20 degrees.

I use these as well--great shoe cover, but I'm wearing a size XL with size 45.5 Fizik shoes and they're barely big enough!

Since you're riding in 50° rainy weather, this should be all you need.

When I asked a similar question after I moved to Seattle people recommended the Endura Road overshoe. They recently updated it with a new version called the Road II overshoe. I've been happy with the original version in the Seattle rain, although they are a little bulky. I've been thinking about trying out the Rapha Pro Team overshoes at some point...

Definitely go with the Seattle/Portland/Vancouver, BC responses. These questions are regional.

For water exclusion purposes, Velotoez are very effective.
For 50 degrees and dry, DeFeet Belgium booties.

Biggest issue for me has been finding one that will close and not leave a gaping hole around my skinny ankles. I'm currently using Endura with a Velcro closure. Doesn't fit right and the Velcro came untitched after one mild Austin winter of use.

No personal experience, but a search turns up lots of discussion about durability issues. Seems to be a specialty use item vs everyday utility.

For those temps, I'm finding the Rapha covers (lightweight ones) to be great. I have the PI covers also, and the Rapha are way more comfortable.

Craft shoe covers have been working well for me this winter.

I've not found anything better than the PI softshell booties for cold weather (anything less than 40 degrees). I've never had luck with neoprene because my feet get clammy. I have a set of PI toe covers I use when it's between 45-50 degrees. At 50 and above, I'm good without covers.

I have the Rapha overshoes for use with my road shoes but am looking for suggestions for overshoes to use with spd type mountain bike shoes for when I don't want to ride my road bike pedals set up - any suggestions for overshoes for mtb shoes with spd cleats? Thanks in advance
