Thanks for posting. Before there were Velocity A23 rims there were Velocity Aerohead rims, with an OC rear option. I have 2 sets of wheels built with these, one built by me, and they are great.

Will watch the video later but OC rims, with high dish 11s hubs, is a GREAT idea but way more expensive to make an OC rim. DT440 another example.

Watched the video, very technical. Suffice to say, offcenter drilling moves the rim to the right, then have to raise tension on the left to get the wheel dished=stronger wheel..

I'm another fan of O/C rims. I have an Aerohead O/C on my road bike, and have used them as offered by Bontrager. I won't build with anything else on the rear if I can help it. They clearly lead to longer lasting wheels.

DT offers and O/C version.

Bill teaches wheelbuilding in the DC area and is a great guy. When I took his class he also taught the Park Tool school class and organic chemistry at the local community college.

I've talked with him about some wheels I was building. Knows his stuff, that's for sure.

very technical video but for a neophyte makes a lot of sense to me.

I have been so impressed with how well my OC rims have held up. Highly recommended for 11spd freehubs and lower spoke counts
