... on my track bike in the garage and the power went out.

It got very dark very fast. Luckily I remembered where the wall was but man, that scared the crap outta me!

I never had that happen to me, but I sure thot about it a lot. To that end, I routinely practiced riding the rollers with my eyes closed for several seconds at a time,, just to get used to maybe someday having to actually DO it.

Yet another reason I use the trainer and not the rollers any more, LOL. Worst crashes I have had have been in my basement

I often find myself riding with my eyes closed on the rollers, but to have the lights go out on a track bike where you can't immediately stop the pedals would be a little unnerving.

I've been riding rollers some this winter but I'm still pretty shaky. If that happened to me I'm sure I'd be on the floor. Glad you're ok.

this sounds pretty terrifying. especially when you consider that if I'm riding rollers, it's likely bad weather outside, which means increased chances of a power outage.

I have, on occasion, set my rollers up in the middle of the room just to force myself to practice getting on/off without using a wall/chair/etc. that could get ugly if there were an outage. most of the time these days though, I'm in my basement where the ceiling beams are close enough that I can grab them should I need to.

I would have never considered this occurring, but now that I do, might keep one of these on the bars:

Did the same thing years ago! You can't hit the brakes! I did my best to "coast" to a stop but failed. The 12 foot gap from my rollers to the back of the couch seemed much longer when I went off the rollers and rocketed forward!! lololol
