Hey there Paceline. So I am in the works of building up my dream bike, but I am stuck with a dilemma. Having ridden Shimano Ultegra recently, I have come to love having my 11-32 when I go and do long climbing days (>10k elevation gain). However, my new bike is going to have Campy Super Record, and I know their RD can only handle up to a 28. So in talking with some of my riding buddies that do these similar climbing days, they have outfitted their bikes with 11-28 and a 52/34 chainring combo. The ones that run it like it, and have no mechanical issues with it. My question is that I love my Rotor Q-rings, and would like to do a similar setup with Q-rings.

Has anyone tried this combo? If so, how does it work with shifting?

:)

Jokes aside I have never used Q-rings but that seems like a really sketchy setup. You could use an Athena triple rear derailleur to use an 11-32 out back. Hell, you could use the money you save on that derailleur to get Record logos painted on it.

RD can handle up to 30t(altho biggest Campagnolo 11s cog is 29t)..a 52/34, with proper chain length..just long enough for big-big combo, ought to work fine.

Yes, as long as the SR is 2014 and older. AND as a note, 2015 RH levers can be converted to 2014 'spec, and hence, 2014 and older rear ders with a $20 take up spool(which I have, BTW)...

Right lever is 2015 SR/Record, middle is 2014-2009 Record/Chorus, left is 2009/2010 centaur 10s..Wish I could get the white spool, to convert to 2015/rear ders..cannot yet.
