Anyone have any experience with either the Felt Verza Speed 10 or 20? I'm looking for a tooling around/errand bike and this caught my eye in a local shop. Seems similar to a Spec. aluminum Sirrus or a Trek FX. Would like to keep it around $1000.00, so it will have to be aluminum. My only experience with aluminum was a late 1980s Trek 1420 road bike, which was about as smooth as a dentist drill combined with a jack hammer. I'm not sure any short test ride will give me the real feel of the aluminum frame over a distance, but all the people at my LBS seem to think that today's aluminum is nothing like the "aluminum of old" and is much smoother.
Any thoughts on any of these bikes or just newer aluminum in general?
