Dave Z's Shoes

I ran into some guys recently that were discussing Dave Z's gear and noted that he was running Rocket7's under those Sidi shoe covers. I could not help but notice that his shoe covers do not have that "Sidi lump" that is the buckle underneath. I guess its like the old days when your bike frame was painted for your sponsor, but the actual wares were made by another company. Looks like Dave did his TT magic thing again at Dauphine. Hope he fairs well on his virgin journey up Vento. :beer:

He was indeed wearing Rocket 7 shoes...interesting considering how "clamped down" CSC is regarding equipment. Historically, everyone on the team has been consistent with sponosor obligations. Sure, Basso is wearing different color shoes this season, but they're still Sidis.

This topic has been discussed over at the weenies board- I think around these parts its considered a little 'uncool' to discuss pro gear, though I find it interesting. There's pics over there of Dave Z. without the covers.
