This frame set is incoming:

I would guess that it is a like it or hate type response - both are welcome.

1.) Keep or ditch the HS - to me depends on if I need the additional height of it.

2.) Silver 10s Veloce or 11s Athena - all my bikes are 11s Campy

3.) Carbon 11s Chorus - I will have a spare group shortly.

4.) Other

Thanks,
Jeff

Keep the headset.
I vote for the carbon Campagnolo. I just like the look of carbon components on the smaller tube frames.
Thats going to be very nice.

Cant see a reason not to like that. Alloy group. Congrads and put up pics when you are done.

I saw that auction and thought what an interesting paint job. Can't wait to see this one built and out in the sunlight.

Congrats! I like alloy on this one, fwiw.

I would try to keep the steerer length as is, so keep the headset. Even if you need to slam the stem to get your position, the extra length might be important to someone when you get ready to sell.

Any of the mentioned groups would be fine with me. I'd lean toward polished to go with the chromed fork and silver HS, but if I had the Chorus on hand I'd probably go that route.

Nice find.

Alloy Athena. It's around $500 from the usual spot, compatible with your other gear, and looks better IMO than Veloce. Black carbon chorus doesn't look as right on such a classically styled frame.

I remember that frame from NAHBS in Sacramento. I was debating whether to buy it back then, it's very nice.

I'd be very tempted to go with black components, I think they would help that paint job pop a bit more than bright polished components. Athena in black I would say. Of course nothing even a tiny bit wrong with Chorus especially since you have it already.

paintjob doesn't do it for me right now but I think once built up it could look really nice. I think silver athena would be nice but part of me thinks 2015 chorus with some carbon wheels

I would go:
Silver bar/stem/post
2015+ chorus
Wheels could go several ways but I would at least to silver spokes.

Alloy Athena. Can't see carbon matching that fork/stay.

Man that headset takes me back. I would totally keep it if it works for you.

Also, I'm partial to carbon on small tubed steel bikes. I think it works well.

1.) Keep or ditch the HS - to me depends on if I need the additional height of it.

Keep. I can't imagine needing to put a stem lower than that would allow, unless the bike is fairly large for you anyway?

2.) Silver 10s Veloce or 11s Athena - all my bikes are 11s Campy
3.) Carbon 11s Chorus - I will have a spare group shortly.

One more vote for silver. All silver everything, seatpost, stem, bar. Carbon on that frame -- well, think of a '68 Mustang with 23" wheels and tiny low-profile tires, and little arcs of LEDs around its headlights. Or a 2-story brick Tudor that someone's put an attached garage onto, only they did it all Bauhaus and galvanized siding... sorta wrong, you know?

4.) Other

Don't be tempted to get matched Berthoud saddle and bar wrap. Too much is too much. What I'd do, I'd go white for the seat, tape, and cables.

In the end, though, that's going to be beautiful no matter what you do. And I bet it'll be a delight to ride.

I'm partial to the group you purchased from me. It would look killer on that frame.
