View Full Version : Shoe covers that work on bont shoes

I just got a pair of bont vaypors and was going to try putting my rapha shoe covers on to see if they fit (was worried they didn't since they are for a more classic cycling shoe, read pointy). No good, not even close. Now admittedly they are the large and the shoe size is the biggest it says it fits for that size but even with an XL I am not seeing these fit.

What shoe coves do bont vaypor users here use? I am going to put my rapha covers on the classifieds but would like some that are as nice and hopefully similarly priced or cheaper.

oh yeah they need to be warm, its cold as hell here right now.

Thank you

I have a pair of the Rapha shoe covers in large and they are a tight fit on Sidi size 46. I have used the Defeet shoe covers in the past and they are way roomier:

I use Defeet oversocks.
And I have PI shoe covers that work.
I don't use Vaypors, but I have A-2s, and they're similarly shaped.

On my mobile, but a suggestion I'd have is look at what kit the pros who run Bonts might wear. Orica's Caleb Ewan runs Bonts for example, their kit supplier is Craft. Obviously pros get some special treatment with regards to customization, but might be a start as I doubt booties are something that gets customized outside of screening.

this is a good idea. I will look.

Thanks guys for the replies. I really want a shoe cover that covers most of the sole but might have to do with something that only partially covers it.

I use size XL Pearl Izumi Elite Barrier MTB shoes covers on my Bonts in a size 45.

It's pretty tight across the midfoot, and you need to tug a bit to get the toe of the cover to snug up to the toe of the shoe, but it works.

yeah its crazy, the part where the cleat goes in the bont is a full inch lower than on my giros

Which rapha shoe covers? The newer pro team shoe cover fits just fine.

Yeah those are a bit snug.

These work just fine as they stretch more.

thanks bianchi10! I do like the rapha over shoes, they are really nice made. Thinking about it but don't think I should spend over $100 on over shoes right about now.

Too bad you didn't bring this up last month. I sold mine for $50 and only used them once. They are great and fit so much nicer.

Same here, I bought largest size Rapha winter booties and have trouble getting them on my size 46 Bonts. I also use Shimano's PRO branded booties and those are an easier fit.

damn it, that was a good deal, I would have totally have taken them. I take it you are using the MAAPs, they fit ok?

Also just rode the BONTS today, wow, what amazing shoes. My ACC Empires will be up for sale shortly thats for sure.

I have some shimanos in white and they fit but I really would prefer a more closed sole so less wind gets in. Also they are really ugly :D

Yeah, Bont is all I will wear. MAAP is working on shoe covers, gloves and base layers which should be released 2nd quarter this year. Until then, I use velotoze or Defeet to stay neutral.
