Aside from getting branded - they screwed it up - it's clear it hit the dude's skin, he pulled away and they plunged again missing their original mark.

That's gonna not only leave a mark it's mark of regret.

I'm not a racer, but if I were and I won I'd gladly get one. Although I don't think that's the spot I would choose to have it placed.
