I am looking for an 80mm stem in white. I have seen that Deda makes an 80mm in the Zero1 level. Are these stems strong enough to use on an MTB? I am not racing, but it is on a short travel MTB with a 720mm wide bar and I do tend to pull pretty hard to get over things ;).

Are these stems safe for MTBing?

Thanks for your input....

Can't help you on the Deda stem question, but there are a number of white MTB specific stems. A quick Internet search turned up this website with a bunch of MTB stems, and you can specify the color of the stem to find just the white ones...

Here's one option that comes in an 80mm length...

BTW, according to Wiggle's page on the Deda Zero 1, it is ok for MTB usage...

I've got one on my MTB for what it's worth. No problems to report after~4 years or so.

Should be fine.
Nice price on the Wiggle site, ordering one myself.
