Been using Speed Dreams as my wheel builder since the early nineties, his wheels are built true and stay that way.
I have been hesitant using other wheel builders as I have had several custom wheels built that were less than perfect, sent back wheels to some fairly well know builder/shops (no one here) for being a couple mm off, just sick that way, demand perfection. Today I received a 29er wheelset built by Eric at Ergott Wheels. Absolutely perfect, I mean perfect!!

I've got a set by speed dreams that my oldest set and still doing fine.

Several sets from Ergott/Eric and never an issue. Easy to deal with, does what he says when he says and nice to boot. What more can you ask?? Oh yeah he's one of our own.

We are luck to have lots of knowledge and great vendors/crafts people as well.

I bought a pair of his lightly used personal wheels. Extremely happy. They are on my ss cx bike and have been bullet proof on everything from hard cx racing to 60 mile off road adventures.

Good to hear. I am in the contemplation stages of a new wheelset. I have a disc brake bike with thru axles and am in "need" of a second wheelset. Any ideas if he would be a good builder for something like that?

We have a few local wheel builders here I need to talk to as well.

Problem is that I need something centerlock disc brake compatible, thru axle, tubeless capable .... light, fast, durable and cheap... no problem, right

I'll echo the positive feedback of others. Reach out to Eric with your goals. He'll make sound recommendations and build you a solid wheelset that delivers on at least 3 of your 4 targets. And you'll get what you pay for.

I'll add to that. I've known Eric since he started building wheels. He's always had the highest standards -- wheel quality, business dealings, and going the extra bit to be sure you get more than you expected.

We're lucky to have a few people who are extraordinary at what they do and don't have to boast about it because everyone else boasts about them -- Dave K, Eric E, and Eric G are the three recommendations I know I can always boast about without hesitation.

You are all too kind. It's an honor working with those whom I do.

After much research and thought I had Eric build a set of ENVE 4.5’s with R45 hubs, for my everyday wheels (summer & winter). They came perfect, and I mean perfect until this past Sunday with 16K miles on the wheels I had a minor accident bending a spoke. The wheel was out of true but ridable. I called Eric, and on a Sunday he replaced the spoke and trued the wheel, once again “perfect". I can’t say enough about Eric’s dedication to perfection in wheel building and keeping his customers riding and happy. I never had a pair of wheels stay so true for so long.

Another vote for Ergott. I have a set of his wheels on my favorite bike.
