Sometimes you sell a bike and then wish you hadn't and you buy a different but same one again. I have done this a few times.

4 gios compacts
A pink one, a red one, a green one and a yellow one (not original paint) strangely never a blue one.

2 master x lights
can't remember the stupid paint codes for them.

4 serotta csi's
Purple to gold fade, red with yellow and a sorta sand colored one' also a black Colorado that's all lugged and tapered tubes like a csi

2 trek 520s
Blue level top tube 1" type and a green sloping tt one.

I guess I should just keep one of each and stop fooling around, maybe not the trek

You guys?

i had c40, c40 b stay, c40 hp, c50. i just liked the idea of having a colnago. i'd get one, it was fine, then i'd notice i always grabbed one of my other bikes to ride, so I'd sell it, then miss having a collage, repeat. i finally realized the slacker geo was not really my taste and have been colnago-free for 8 years now

to help motivate me to rehab.

honestly my fav rides of late (before surgery last month) were on my new-to-me ibis ripley MTB and my IF Ti deluxe 29er hardtail is next, then the road stuff.

Yes but one is broken and an excellent wall hanger, I paid through the nose for it even more than the functioning bike.:o

I have owned 4 StumpJumpers.
When the first one got stolen, I bought the exact year/model replacement.
When the replacement got stolen, I bought an S-Works.
When I decided I needed suspension, I bought the current model for that year (non-S-Works) and downsized the S-Works for my wife.

Sometimes I regret that last decision.

I'm trying to get into this club, but haven't found a PDM Concorde yet.

Otherwise, I'm all for trying new things

I located a Legend that I used to own and I am in the process of trying to get it back, albeit very discreetly. Does that count?

I read a story a while ago about a couple (maybe in England?) that owned like 50 Morris Minors. I'm split - on one hand, I'd love to have an MXL in every color scheme (or a V6 505 sedan to go with my 2.2i four-cylinder wagon), but I also want to try various different bikes.

2 Lemond Zurichs. It was my first bike and I regretted selling it. I got another one recently but it's a bit redundant and I'm moving so I'll put it up for sale soon.

I had a Pegoretti Marcelo, but sold it because it was just the wrong bike for me, even though it fit me right. A couple of years later, I bought another Marcelo in my size, and it also rode like a door. Also sold.

Yes, YMMV.

In addition, I had two Cinelli Supercorsas, from which I first moved to a Molteni Merckx and later to a custom RS. Funny that now I no longer own the Merckx or the RS. Moving on........

Been there. Had an '01 CAAD4 (sold), then an '02 CAAD5 (sold), then 3 more CAAD5s in track bike form ('07 sold, '10 crashed, '04 still have).

If it was the right price I'd buy another 60cm CAAD5 track frame just for backup.

2 X Cinelli Super Corsa

Albeit from widely separated eras, as roughly 25 years apart. I still have them both.

Edited, my mistake. I have 3 X Cinelli Super Corsa.

Have one, could see myself getting another. Current one rides and fits me great but isn't in a color I'm wild about and doesn't have internal cable routing (which I have an irrational love for) like the newer versions. Once I acquire one that addresses those "deficiencies" I can see myself selling the current one.

Rivendells:

2 Bleriots
3 Rambouillets - 2 orange, one retro'ed with S&S couplers when I bought it.

Love the looks of those Rivs, but never ever got a boner about the ride.

3 Spec Roubaix:

2009 S-Works with bb30. Could never get it work with a triple.

2009 Pro that I loved a lot but had to sell to make room for Serotta Fierte IT.
Sold the Fierte, which I did not love hardly at all, to Elefantino so he could destroy that mofo.

Now 2010 Pro with triple that is next to my heart almost as good as the Carver Ti.

Over the last eight years, I have built, rebuilt and/or restored about 60 bikes, mostly vintage (it was an obsessive / compulsive period) and have had a few duplicates. I'm moving away from this period.

Litespeed Appalachian -- 2 -- still have one

Land Shark -- 3 (2 road, 1 X) still have one road and one X

Dave Scott Miami Vice Ironman -- 4 -- still have one

Trek 660 -- 3 -- still have 2, one out on loan

Trek 2300 -- 2 -- one left, son has it

Schwinn Madison (new style) -- 3 -- still have 2, other son has one

Fisher Procaliber (1989 & 1990) -- 2 -- sold to collectors in Thailand

Schwinn Prologue TT -- 2 -- Gone, thank God. What a b***h to ride.

There are probably more if I think about it.

I've had 5 Look 585s and 3 Serotta CIIIs.

I probably should have kept them all but I kept selling them and re-buying them!

If you love a bike, don't let it go because it might not come back and finding an identical one is hard to impossible and it becomes an expensive pursuit.

I have a Pinarello Montello from the 80's (which I love) and awhile back I had a chance to get another one. I had to go to another state to try it out and the frame was so flexible I couldn't believe it was the same bike. Both frames were supposed to be Columbus SLX but mine must have some SPX parts mixed in because it is way stiffer.

One of the benefits (drawback?) of riding really large bikes is they are not as common as average size bikes.

I am on my 3rd Bridgestone 400, upgrading due to condition each time.
