I am going to be in DC on Presidents Day weekend including on Mon. hopefully with my bike. I will be in the Chevy Chase neighborhood of DC. Any thoughts on rides w clubs or shops etc? Looking for a moderate pace (15-17) as I don't want to be dropped in unfamiliar territory.

Are the rides from Bicycle Space decent? Looks like they have rides on Sat and Sun. that are no drop. Feel free to pm me.

Thanks,

Alan

You may want to call the shops organizing the rides to get the straight dope whether they are doing the rides. The reason is that even though there is quite a bit of rain on the way tomorrow, there are still plenty of narrow roads due to snow drifts... It will probably be gone by then, but keep that in mind. I drove down on Beach Dr. Yesterday and it is tight at some points.

Dont bring the bike and go to the swap meet in MD feb 14th.

Would not surprise me that we have snow or the weather is really ····ty that weekend, usually is.

Hey - knock it off, will ya? :D

To the OP, there are a couple of rides here that might fit the bill: http://www.potomacpedalers.org/events/calendar.asp?m=2&y=2016&group=&cid=#. The slower one is up NW of DC in some nice farm country; the faster one just outside of Bethesda. GL.

As far as the bicyclespace rides go, avoid them that weekend. The road conditions are going to be horrible for the hills of Anacostia ride thanks to what the recent weather has done to the roads here. I'd say the same for the hills of Rock Creek ride, but Rock Creek Park has been one big pothole for a while.

You can pm me if you want, but that is pretty much my stance on this.
