It could be s(h)ram. Then that would be the norm and you wouldnt be disappointed.

it appears that project "cheap speed" which is made up of all used bike parts may not end up being so "cheap"

Just do what SRAM did and and remove the small ring.

Very true, nobody ever went fast in the 39

you will probably pay more for that part than for the whole shifter ahha

wait, left right? if left you may be in luck, I have one right here that you can have faaaaa freeee

edit, just looked at it, looks great no scratches, nothing. Came from an athena that was converted to brake only lever.

Put the chain on the big ring and ride like the hard man that you are. Small rings are for sissies and kittens. 💪🚴🏽

LOL! I remember my Kronos brake levers -- thought I was so cool being so weight-weenie back in the day. I guess I didn't worry much about actually being able to brake back in those days....

Be real! There was only one hill 'back in the day' where braking mattered! It was coming down the old High Cliff hill and there is virtually no other hill within 50 miles of Appleton that requires more than a tiny scrubbing of speed. Even the 'new' High Cliff hill....

Maybe Drew Street going down to the river. Otherwise, what needs brakes in Appleton?

That's kind of a serious question. It's almost, but not quite, as bad as Virginia Beach. The old speed modulating brakes of the 80s are just fine for 99.9% of riding in Appleton and Virginia Beach.

Haha! I still have a set of those levers in a box somewhere.

Which lever? New lever or older? These are not hard to find and install.

PM me if I can help.

relatively cheap carbon frame i picked up last year, and have decided to build with only cheap or used parts. Focus Team Milram. looks like i'm sorted with the shifters too, thanks to this great forum and it's awesome people.
