Does anyone have/know of a program that "creates" a virtual/visual bicycle out of measurements? I'm struggling with some geometry questions and I'm a visual guy, so I'd like to see how other bikes would stack up against my frame. Given the confusing welter of effects that a change in angles, tube length, wheelbase, and front center could have, I'm stuck just guessing how another bike would fit me or if it would fit well or not. Help?

Way fun, even for those of us who are fairly clueless as to frame design!

The CAD program is a great idea, except that the many brands sold today don't have a standard defintion for their frame design. The biggest problem is that not very many companies offer the exact same frame size and comparing one brand of frame to another usually result in errors.

Manufacturing tolerance also create problems.

I just got a 51cm LOOK 585. According to the geometry charts, the TT length is 5mm longer than a 51cm LOOK 461, with the same HTA and STA. In theory, the reach should be 5mm longer, but when I assembled the bike, the reach is a lot closer to 10mm longer than it is to 5mm. Darn hard to explain that one.

Wow that was fun to play with.

enough to affect geometry in a quality frame? i freaking hope not.
