So I don't know about anyone else, but I find from time to time I'm just waiting on a part to be released. Sometimes it's something I heard was in the works, or other times it's been something were I thought, "Man, _______ would be a good idea" and then a few months later someone has gone and done it.

Right now I'm waiting hopefully for a carbon Thomson road seatpost with 25mm setback. Rumor has been that they've been working on these, but who knows. It seems like it's been a few years now. Even Bikerumor (http://www.bikerumor.com/2014/08/27/eb14-single-speed-kit-in-a-box-with-thomsons-crate-motor-thomson-ti-bikes-more/)talked about it a ways back.

Something like this:

What are you waiting for?

177.5mm Praxis cranks (not so much waiting on these as lamenting the fact that they were announced, then quietly removed from the site when the cranks came out)

I know when I've asked the Thomson guys at races here and there I've been told they're working on it and generally it should be ready the next road season. I think that's been the case since 2012 or 2013. Spoke to a buddy of mine about it a couple weeks ago and he said he had heard August this year, but I won't believe it till I see it.

A 450-500g, 25mm wide, 36h rim for rim brakes.

Does the new Thomson setback post mean my fugly Thomson "bent" setback post will become a valuable collectors item ?

The new one is 25mm setback. Your bent one is around 15mm I believe.

I can't imagine it really takes this long to finalize the post, except that they don't want to commit the resources to it. If they really wanted to bring it to market, it'd take them a few months, max, and then a few more to build up inventory. They're a (relatively speaking) small company with other interests, so the desire may not really be there to get the 25mm version produced.

What I wait for is for everyone else to buy something, have a new shiny object to turn their heads and then sell the "old" object of desire for 40% of retail.

Yeah...I'm a vulture.

Velocity A23 pretty close...

Bike has no barrel adjusters so I want to keep wheel options at 24.5-25mm wide. So far have HED + and Mavic A719 builds, need something in between w/ 36h. Inline Jagwire adjusters cannot accommodate adjustments form 25mm to 23mm.

They already make GK in 32mm slicks, just gotta ask for em in slick instead of knobby. they are very nice!

My experience with velocity rims is just., hmmm not good.

For example zipp has/had a set of clinchers with aero aluminum rims, why in the world they never produced a set of tubulars of those rims, other brands is the same...

I have built many. When they were made in Australia, no issues. When they moved production to Florida..poor QC, some sizing issues, etc. BUT I have recently built about a dozen..A23, 700c and 650b, Major Toms, a set of Escapes, 3 Deep V, and it seems the issues are behind them.

I had a demo Waterford track bike with ProElites and they built very nice(Record Pista hubs)..
