These have a new, wider rim with a smoother profile. Anyone have any kilos under them?

If wider rim makes them non susceptible to snapping spokes, then it is a good.

And wonder if they have moved the new 4 pawl MTB hub over to road stuff..doubt it but..ahhh..no, only on Crossmax...

Snapping spokes is not good. This was a problem with the previous iteration? I was not aware of that. I would prefer 4 pawls too. I assume that the rational for 2 pawls is mass based? Maybe save two grams?

Golly, gosh I was hoping that Shimano and Campag would increase their rim width for 2016. It must be in the schedule for 2017.

Cheaper and allows for that FH body with the crappy plastic bushing..at least it's easy to replace(the FH body). First gen hubs, like in Heliums, had a bearing but they needed to make one for Campagnolo, with smaller OD, so the bushing happened. Plus lance wanted a lighter wheel..

My wife still uses the original red Helium circa 1996 on her red Waterford 2200.

I thought that campy now has a wider rim option on some of their wheels?

I think just carbon at the moment.

I never had any spokes snap on my 2 sets of the last generation but have had 3 rear rims crack at the spokes, a rear hub break pawls and seize up and black spokes flake and rust.
I have 2 sets of older versions that have been bullet proof.

pretty sure some fulcrum wheels have a wider rim now, racing quattros LG (http://www.fulcrumwheels.com/en/wheels/road-bike-wheels/racing-quattro-lg) come to mind...23.2mm.
not sure what the campy equivalent might be, but you gotta assume they have one, or will.

also, apparently there is a carbon ksyrium rim now (http://www.mavic.com/wheels-road-triathlon-ksyrium-pro-carbon-sl-c)...cant wait for these to trickle down into the 2nd hand market, they look SWEEEEEEEEET :)

I'll wager that the carbon Ksyrium weighs 1430 actual grams (claimed 1390 g's). I've weighed Shamals and Zeros at 1440-1450 g's. Why bother with a carbon rim when alloy is available at the same weight and at a significantly lower price?
