Nice. It appears to be a nearly 10-year old interview but still relevant today.

Most people new to the sport do not know how good a rider he really was. He was a game changer, no question about it.

Great find! Even 9 years ago, so much has gone down yet he's still here at the top, such and interesting and humbling person. His perspectives from the past are always enjoyable.

Thanks for posting! I never knew his 1977 nationals win was in Seattle. Found some old video footage: https://vimeo.com/16567878 I wish we still had road races right in the city here.

He and Jeff Bradley nearly lapped the field......watched it happen real time.

I got my own Greg Lemond lesson in the same video in the 3 up match sprint on the track. Greg borrowed a bike just to check out track riding. It's at 12:40 into the video. Greg is in the blue Della Santa jersey, I'm in the green with white center stripe. 39 years ago.........WOW!

^^ Big props. Especially because bike racing was such a fringe sport back then. :hello:

Chapeau to you. I can't imagine being able to say I was there racing Greg. Simply awesome.

It must be incredible to have such a dominating natural talent like that. He took the cycling world by storm that's for sure.

Who was the San Jose rider? The voice in the background mentions Zanotti.

I still ride a Lemond Tete De Course 2003 model. They last stopped producing that model about 2008, I believe. I bought that bike to last me a lifetime, and it looks like it will.

I got the Tete de Course after my Zurich was destroyed in a crash. I had a red Zurich that I bought used. Its former owner brought it back to the bike shop after determining the bike was too big for him. It was just right for me. I know I'd still have it today except for my misfortune.

I've got a Coors Light frame but the seat post is stuck in it. I also still race on a Poprad... Good bikes.
