Just took delivery of a set of PSLR's I got here on the classifieds, and the front hub clicks every revolution a bit.

I don't know what it is, but would love to get in there to look around a bit. I hear they use DT240's for their hubs (rebranded).

Does anybody know how to go about this?

Thanks.

I think they use dt internals. Meaning they are not just dt rebranded dt hubs so could still be very different to "get in there" compared to a dt 240.

I have no experience with the wheel set you have so could be wrong but from googled images thats what i get.

Can you feel the click when you hold the axle and spin the wheel?

I'd ride 'em before you go digging cartridges out..

Pop some new bearings in there, maybe the seller will be nice enough to pay for them. Or ride them until it gets worse...

How do I open them up?

I am reasonably certain that is not a 240 hub. I own a bunch of them and that has a different setup.

yep, 100% not dt 240s, they just use DT's star ratchet.

unless its a severe CLICK, it might go away with some use.
if the wheel spins relatively ok, just ride em around as-is and see if it goes away.
if not, youll probably need to replace the bearings.

Quick google search nets this: Has MY specific info and pictorial step by step for assembly/disassembly. Looks like the front hub requires a specific tool to remove the axle and bearings.

Very helpful. I wonder what this "tool #4 is".

Looks like a glorified bearing punch - but I'm guessing will be rather hard to source. You might try calling your local Giant shop and seeing if they can order one for you.

tool #4 is part of the DT Swiss tool kit for 240 hubs. you can get the same kind of tool -6803 punch- cheaper from many a source.

You could be hearing the bearing balls clicking against one another. If the axle spins smoothly by hand without any "hesitation", I would pop open the bearings seals and grease the bearings. The click will probably go away.

I've used a 1/4 inch socket drive set; i.e., an extension bar and an appropriate diameter socket, in place of #4 tool to remove and install the front bearings.
