When I'm pedaling, my cleats/pedals are making a racket. It only happens while standing or climbing. I am using CB Candy pedals with their road cleats (3 hole/look mount), Sidi Ergo carbon road shoes. It's been suggested that the cleat to shoe interface could be causing the noise. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what to put between the cleat and sole that might eliminate the racket?

I was previously using the pedals with my mountain bike shoes and they did not make any noise, so I think the pedal is OK.

thanks in advance

turn up your iPod !

Are the screws that hold the cleats to the shoes too long?

If not, put some lube on everything, and make sure they are tight.

I'd try placing either a sheet of wool felt, leather, or a piece cut from a plastic milk carton between the cleat and the shoe. Shape the shim just like the cleat and see what happens. The felt or leather can be found at any good fabric store.
