Just curious what everyone's experience is with the mileage/lifetime of a set of BB30 bearings.

I know it will vary a bit given riding conditions, etc. but a ballpark would be nice. 1000 mi? 5000 mi? 50 mi? 0 because you avoid BB30 frames?

As long as they are smooth and dont feel dry...keep em rolling.

Depends a lot on the type of conditions they are exposed to. They should last a pretty long time in a "nice weather" road bike. But maybe not so long for a cx bike.

I generally avoid BB30 like the plague though. One too many creaky experiences...

I have about a year on mine, 200 hours or so. Mostly indoors so no real weather.

Green loctite, no creaks. Alum frame, reamed to spec. Regular bearings (SRAM maybe?).

Mine started failing rather quickly right at 25k miles. One good thing is that they are simple to replace, and cheap.

Get decent US or European bearings, install with lotsa grease, take seals off, pack grease in bearings, seals back on, they last fine. Some cheap Asian bearings seemed to be close to failing out of the box.

Two years and running. Mileage....I'm guessing 4K miles with little rain. I have a few bikes.....including one that I use when it's wet.

Quiet too.

PS If I'm not mistaken, SRAM BB30 bearing were installed.

Two years. Creak free on both bikes. The race bike is waiting for its new SRM before a complete overhaul, including BB30 BB.

Two years for me as well. Use whatever cannondale/bike store supplies. about $40-50 installed if I remember right.

BB30 installation is a piece of cake with a headset press and the Park BB30 kit.

Should be mentioned that 'creak' and worn out bearings may be 2 issues. I've seen BB30s creak with brand new bearings and some with wasted bearings be silent.

Wheels Manufacturing makes some nice BB30 bearings. Comes with clips.

I have one bike with 17k miles, 950 hrs over the course of about 4 years I've been keeping track. Bearings were installed 2 years before that. Ceramic. Still going fine. I clean and grease once a year.

Agreed on both counts. The Wheels bearings are excellent. My experience with the SRAM kit would fall in line with yours as well.
